Along with dreamy skies and hot days of our lives, the month of July brings us another round of Studio634’s summer series. July is alllll play, baby.
On Saturday, July 16, you’re invited to join us as we stop, drop and roll into the imminent and vast realms of play.
Studio634 continues in its mission of budding creative flowers. This culture-building series is for creative folks to share works in progress and get crafty with different mediums and groups of supportive participants. Below are the details and info about our day of play. Enjoy your read!

Saturday July 16th, join us any time from 11AM to 7PM. You are welcome to come and go as you please. Check out the schedule and descriptions below for our offerings to help plan your visit.
Entry is free or PWYC! We suggest a $10 contribution (cash or e-transfer) to support Studio634. We invite you also to bring a contribution to lunch! ♡

In continuing to navigate COVID, we will take adaptive measures to mitigate risk of spread at Studio634.
We will each session with a check in to assess and understand what adaptive measures we have to take based on the needs of those in the room. This might look like wearing masks or moving outside, etc.
We emphasize strong self-monitoring before attending Studio634, and encourage self-testing beforehand. If you’ve been in contact with a positive case, have symptoms, or have recently travelled long distance, please stay home! At home self-test kits are available at pharmacies and grocery stores.
Schedule
11am - 12:30pm. Do-It-Together Sculpture Challenge
Location: Outdoors, Dining Room, Living room.
Let's make something! Together! Bring $5 - $10 (and/or objects from home) and we'll take a trip to our local hardware store. We'll use the odds and ends we collect to create a one of a kind sculpture to become the mascot for STUDIO634's day of play.
12:30 - 1:30PM. Lunch
Location: Dining Room or Back Patio
Potluck brunch. Bring a contribution of food or beverage to share among good company. Explore questions prompts and flavours. We’ll save leftovers to snack for the rest of the day.
1:45 - 3:15 pm. Tom Fooled Me, or Tom, Fool Me!
Location: Outside + Living Room
Clownery. Fashion Shows, minute-to-win-it games & the Art of Fleshing out Characters. . . All things are possible in the company of clowns. Join us for a haberdashery of delight, led by Angry Animal & Good Company.
3:30 - 5:00 pm. What a Drag
Location: Living Room
Gender? I don't even know her! It's BYOCAC (Bring Your Own Costumes, Accessories, and Cosmetics) at this open session to explore what gender and drag mean to you. Paint your face, get dressed up, try something new, and watch your clownish character take shape! We'll have some things for you to play dress up / make up on hand, in case you're in need.
5:30 - 7pm. Lip Sync Karaoke
Location: Living Room
For one night only, world renowned (and not so slightly infamous) karaoke MC, Tago Mago, welcomes you to lip sync your heart out to your favourite tunes! The microphone might be turned off, but the volume is HIGH on all the jams. Projector to play lyric and music videos included ; )
On-Going Installation: Upside Down Sounds by Tago Mago
Location: Installation Room/Fire Escape
Play634 has invited the illustrious and ever psychedelic Tago Mago to fill the space with sounds. Miscellaneous feeds run havoc and play is only inches away.
Art Sale!
Location: 2nd Floor Room 2
Stop by to peruse and buy dyed fabrics, zines, prints for sale by artists. Zines, photos, posters, sheets, and more could be yours + you’ll directly support local talent! Want to include your work in the art sale? Let us know via the email below!
